If you are in doubt about the screw size required for your Savage Axis or Axis II, contact Savage with your serial number to ensure you get the mount with the right size screws. You can measure the holes if you have a set of calipers. #6-48 screws will measure approximately 0.138”. #8-40 screws will measure approximately 0.164”.
